Jeffrey Dahmer - Is He a Christian?

Jeffrey Dahmer famously near the end of his life became a Christian at least ostensibly studied the gospel saw a priest and just very shortly after was murdered by a fellow inmate. What do you make of the objection to Christianity that as long as he was sincere in his repentance a man like Jeffrey Dahmer can end up in heaven. A person who lives their lives not harming a soul who doesn't find Jesus near theend of their life and dies in atheists might end up in hell. As a Catholic I could test that second side of the dilemma because we would say that even an atheist who's sincerely following his or her conscience can be saved. So let's teaching a Vatican too.
