The Challenge of Deep Fake Faces

Deep fakes have been around for a while, but now they're coming into their own. The technology is based on deep neural networks that can be learned to create fake faces. Some of them are called pupiteering systems - you take lots of media and change the lips or parts of the face so it looks like someone has said something different. It was developed by graduate students at universities who were hard to debuncate. But then in December last year somebody posted code that can do that too.
