The Hidden Fires

Nan Shepherd was an author from Aberdeen and she was publishing novels and poetry in the late 1920s early 30s. She's most famous now for her non-fiction book The Living Mountain which is about the Cangorn Mountains in the Highlands of Scotland. In 1977 when she was 84 she took it back out reread it and then she self-published it by paying for a print run of 3,000 copies to Aberdeen University Press.
