Boniface and the Crusade to Constantinople
Boniface may have felt a certain amount of bitterness about the way his family had been treated in Constantinople, but I think he saw them more as a means to an end. He was a young, impressionable man who would become their protégé. His brother Conrad had been paid handsomely for his service to Isaac Angulos and then moved on to Tyre, where he was elected as the new King of Jerusalem. It was only an assassin's blade that stopped him from achieving his ambition.
