Why Does Mob Psycho 100 Work?

I'm not sure for one punch man I really don't understand why it works. The story the magic is more like magic to powers. He being up a god like status is more like a way to explore his emotional journey instead of a way to instead of needing to be "God" It's such a fine line that he plays on you know I'm saying like it's I but that's part of what's fun is because it's like no one does it. Yeah especially considering most people are inherently somewhat selfish if you give someone a bit access to power and don't put limits on it people will take advantage of it.
