The Surry Is Based on Ethnographic Research

The surry is based on ethnographic research. It was not a book about the sari so much as a book about modernity and indian women. The publishers that commissioned the book in a censor were an academic publisher, but catherine earle also had the publishing nouse to know that this had to be marketed as what they call a trade book. And it sold lots of copies in academi it's not considered an academic book. If so, all the research for it is done according to the protoculs of academic anthropological research. You know, it looks too good and it sells too well. It can't be academic.
