Is There a Solution to the Gold Standard?

In 1946 up here in New Hampshire you had a refounded gold standard and the idea was to reset the world system. Today we've been coasting on fiat for 50 years but this time is different because those were after kind of temporary moves away from hard money due to war and crisis. So now if the interest rates go up then it's going to be very costly for the government to service its debt so we're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place here.
