What's Happening When You Sweat?

When we sweat particularly profusely, we tend to lose far more water than we do electrolytes. The term that you could use for this loss would be a hyper osmotic volume loss. Even though the volume in the extracellular fluid is going down from the water loss, the concentration of that fluid or the concentration of the solutes in that fluid goes up.
