Northern Island - What Happens if There's No Power Sharing Agreement?
Ministers who were in position before pooling day can stay in their jobs, but only in a caretaker capacity. If there's still no power sharing agreement after six months the northern island secretary has to set a date for another election. These are uncharted waters. Not many people really want to think about that possibility at the moment,. It certainly is a potential we could be going back to the pools this side of christmas 20 22.
