The Difference Between African American Studies and African American History
"I teach African American history, a black history," says Donyel Washington. "There is a big difference and I think that has confused a lot of folks the difference" The two subjects are taught in public schools in Orlando, Florida. It's an analytical approach to what we call the black experience to history,. But you can argue with facts about things like reparations or whether systemic racism exists today.
