The Athenians at Eleusus

Aristotle says the 30 men were not necessarily executed. They were given ten days to submit their accounts at their athune, which was normal process in athenian democracy. Those who were not acquitted essentially lost their citizenship rights. As part of the agreement, eleusis was now recognized as a separate city state and bound by an inferior alliance.
