I think I would almost encourage myself to feel the sadness more and really allow myself to mourn and get over it so that I could like actually move on. Just indulge in the wallowing a little bit, allow yourself to feel the things that need to be felt. That way you don't harbor them for longer than you need. And it's just you give it the moment of respect that it needs or whatever. Well, it does sort of feel cathartic while you're doing it.
