The Longest Flight to Nowhere

The software has been tested over an extended period of time, but the bug was missed because it only presented when many aircraft at the same time were using the system. It's a good thing airlines don't operate on like a bank schedule or a whole bunch of flights that go out at once. They fix the issue to get the aircraft moving in about 20 minutes and then it says five hours later, the software was permanently fixed.
