The One Thing on Which All Human Beings Should Be Capable of Agreeing
Hobbes thought that you could start thinking about politics afresh by going right down to the bottom of doubt and finding the bedrock of certainty on which it would be possible. He said we are motivated to keep moving, that's what it means to live in Hobbes' time. We're all running because we're all in motion, who knows what we're running for or towards but we're running away from death,. That's for sure, can't do it indefinitely but we can do it for as long as we can.
