I always have a hard time feeling sorry for you know sympathetic for these characters and they have wealth and power like here. that's another common theme I've had this thought a lot of times about stories of royalty basically. George could relate to more now more than he could have say when he wrote a game of throngs because he's at the top and he is more lonely.
