A Sergius Paulus Changes His Name

Paul changes his own name. This is something that almost never happens in scripture. The city was one of many antiochs, i believe, 14, that were planted by rome throughout the tribal region of asia minor. Rome always struggled to conquer the primitive tribal regions since they had no imperial structure. It's easier to go into the kingdom of pergamum and conquer the kingdom ofpergamum than take over their king. In archaeological ruins we have found multiple references to pro-consul paulus. He paid for the city gate of pasidian ant Antioch to be built. We don't know if it will be his home town after conversion.
