Docker and Containers: A Balanced Approach
The connector is fully shipped with the environment that it requires to actually run. It also allows us to let the community to contribute in the long range of their choice as long as they follow the protocol. Right now we have one contributor who is working on a complete coverage of the Google Analytics API and he is doing an edX here. And we don't need to know how to install an edx here environment. Nobody should know about that. It's just it's shipped in Docker and it works out of the box. So it's really about the simplicity of and the maintenance of and simplicity of the maintenance.
Summary
Data integration is a critical piece of every data pipeline, yet it is still far from being a solved problem. There are a number of managed platforms available, but the list of options for an open source system that supports a large variety of sources and destinations is still embarrasingly short.
