Doctors Treat Faculty as if They're Colleagues

As a physician, the thing that I've realized over the years is the ability to treat all of my patients as peers. You can feel it in the room the way the patient's interacting with you. And empathy is so much easier when you're talking to a friend. The medical system needs to catch up a little bit with the fact that the world is what it is and not everybody can drop everything in their life to attend to their medical care.
