The Importance of Listening to Orwell

I have met probably two hands worth of people whose lives or understandings of the world were changed who grew up under communism but listened usually through radio free Europe to um Orwell read to them. I can imagine if those rules that people try to push on authors these days that you can only write about things that you've experienced mm-hmm you can't write in character I mean imagine no Orwell for if you if we did that well!
