Why Do People Make Short Sight Decisions?

In the 1990s, one third of students were majoring an e e c s by the late nineties. After the dot com crash, that number dropped to about 20%. People make short-term decisions based on job prospects and not long term goals. If you think this is a field you'll be happy in and there are good job prospects, stick it out for that.
