Nudging Is the Opposite of Tricking

Nudges are operating on the margin of inattention and biases people have that tilt them in one way or the other. Infomercials use exactly the same set of tools that you use, to make people buy stuff they might not have wanted to buy otherwise. We're in favor of cooling off periods for products that are sold that way.
