William wordsworth wrote this partly for his friend coleridge, when coleridge was particularly low and feeling sorry for himself. The messages are that storms don't last forever, avoid self pity and just keep paddling. So that's the lesson that he s to persevere, to remain cheerful when and if hardship comes. It's the sort of poem as a self help book.
