I'm not a practicin occultist, even though some people like to believe i am. I look at these things strictly from a scholarly point of view. But in some cases it's possible to glean things from certain traditions that make things click for you. It doesn't hurt, i believe, to just have a very broad interest and look for all sorts of difference.
