The Aztec Gods Were Everywhere in Tinechitlan
The aztecs had a huge pantheon of gods and goddesses, anywhere from 200 to 16 hundred individual deities. The one god stood above them all was wuitsi la poctili, the god of the sun, war and death. People would cut or pierce parts of their bodies, usually the ear lobes or the tongue, and spatter the blood like holy water on to shrines.
