The Importance of Unproductive Labor
As we make more things, you get fewer and fewer people in the doing productive labor. And so that creates a larger amount of people available to work in nonproductive labor. In order to really make use of all that, fixed capital may ll this dead labor in the form of fixed capital. Like bureaucracies, while they might not be materialized into a tangible thing, they are also a form of of a fixed capital. This is the whole job becomes working with, working for dead labor that's materialized in technological systems or organizational structures.
