The Arbitrariness of Empathy
There is no objective basis for eating some animals versus turning others into companions. We have a lot of educated worries around anthropomorphism that we could put into dialogue here too. Another very clear example of anthropomorphizing animals is also with dolphins. They have a resting joy phase and paradoxically, that's why they're held captive in the state world or in Aquaria.
