Three Unidentified Body Cases
Bodies of Betty Palmer, Vera Martin and Leona Carpenter were all identified. The third body was the hardest to identify because it had no hands or legs or head. Investigators believed probably rightly that it had been mutilated to hide the person's identity. With those six bodies identified plus that of Bert there were now seven victims and still no sign of Dorothea. So Detective Cabrera sent out a beyond the lookout or bolo to all local police forces asking for any reports of unidentified bodies that had been found wrapped in blankets and duct tape.
