The Gravity Hole in the Indian Ocean

The gravity hole is located off the tip of southern India and it covers about 1.2 million square miles. At this spot, the Earth's gravitational pull is actually lower than anywhere else. A group of Indian scientists theorized that about 140 million years ago, there was a gap between the Indian tectonic plate and the rest of Asia. That would have spurred the formation of hot magma plumes rising up.
