"I would say the reason that you're not doing those routes is you've got to look to see what you think is holding you back as a climber, and there probably are some strong things," he says. "There's a number of scripts, I think, that popped up a lot at Smith Rock that this makes me think of."
Don McGrath is the author of Vertical Mind and an expert on mental training for climbing.
