Mafia Structures Are Matriarchal Structures
The public sphere was very much a patriarchal structure, the family sphere seemed to me very often to be a matriarchal structure. It's interesting because I have spent some time in in southern Italy and Sicily. And I think that the system also projects certain images and certain values which are, you know, constructed to a certain extent of what we see or what we expect to see.
