Learning design comprises two classes of activity, the design of resources intended to respond to exist concerns, and the design of experiences intended to create new concerns. A challenge is broadly something where you know you're goingto have a strong set of emotional reactions to it. If you don't, it's probably not a challenge. So you learn through challenges. But every so often, and this is the experienced design piece, we want to change the course of somebody's life. We want to put a new challenge in their way that will drive a new set of learning behaviors,. acquisition of knowledge, if you like. And that's the and half of it.
