The Revisionist History of Austrian Economics During the Mid-Century
In this revisionist view, the Austrian resurgence of the 70s and later decades consisted in the discovery by a new group of fresh younger scholars of the remarkable contributions made by Mises and by Hayek. The key to understanding all these issues is the well-known debate of the 1930s concerning the very possibility of rational central economic planning. Our thesis will be that the vigorous English language debates during the 1930s led Mises and Hayek separately to important clarifications.
