The Winners and Losers in the Government's Budgeting of the Global Challenges Fund

The UK has pulled the plug on two very promising projects which were about to submit their bids literally within two weeks of submitting four years' work into the government. Carbon capture and storage is a strategy for reducing our impacts on climate while keeping fossil fuels as options for energy. Andrew Steele from Scienceagram: "I am really incandescent because what the British government has done is made a crazy decision" Naomi Weir from Campaign for Science and Engineering: "We have to reserve judgment to some extent, as you say, sort of tempered relief at this settlement."
