Privacy and Facial Recognition Technology - What's on the Attorney General's Desk?
There is 51% support for tightening up the amount of personal information companies can collect about us. 46 per cent are in favour of tighter regulations on government data collection. And slightly less, but still majority support for regulating the use of facial recognition technology. We have not updated our privacy laws in any meaningful way for 40 years. There is meaningful reform sitting on the desk of our mild-mannered attorney general who has the opportunity with these laws to shape what happens next.
