Early instances of non european men joining freemasonry emerged ing the years of the american revolution in the 17 seventies. As the eighteenth century went on, it became common for small numbers of indigenous elite men to also join these masonic lodges. Once you initiate a certain number of men from a certain social group, what happens is those men can then walk out of the lodge initiating their friends and associates,. Then the movement spreads into a new population. But naturally, it started a process whereby freemasonry then could spread into the indigenous American community.
