The Importance of Penance in History
How do you look at things in a really spiritual and providential light without being kind of, yeah, I guess facile is the word I would use. And it's very much a part of your book. So for example, when we look at the responses to the rise of Islam, how do the saints understand that? Well, I quoted in my book various saints from various sides, even a Jewish source that all say, well, this is the wrath of God that's come upon us for our sins. We need to do penance. Christopher Dawson also says the same thing. But these are just these are hypotheses really, but it's really drawing on the saints.
