This episode is based on notes that I wrote after having sort of you know read through those pages about listening. It's almost a full transcript except for bits where I'm speaking off script like this bit now anyway right so what are the things I read in that book and let's have a think about them? So academics often write that listening is overlooked in English language teaching but it's hard to get the amount of listening into an English classroom. If someone signs up to an English course they're not going to expect to just sit there and listen all the time if they did then people would feel short changed, which is why we need programs such as teacherloop to fill that kind of gap
586. The Importance of Listening
Recently I was reading a book about listening and learning English. This episode is a summary of what I read, including details of how listening fits in with learning English, some considerations of the importance of listening and also some tips for how to improve your English with audio.
