Covetousness Is Like a Malignant Fever

Covetousness is like a malignant fever to which we become insensitive as it burns all the hotter. Even the most covetous not only do not confess that they are guilty of this, but even think in their conscience that they are not. If a man possesses anything justly, does he not have more right to keep it justly than we have to desire it justly? Why then do we extend our desires to his possessions, desiring to deprive him of them?"
