The BMA's Access Plan for Practices
GPs have effectively had no say in any of the changes around access. They require GP practices to ensure that all patients are offered an assessment of need, an appointment or sign posted to an appropriate service at first contact with the practice. A lot of practices are really considering sending patients to 111 if they're full for the day. And some of them are even fearing that patients could become trapped in kind of a loop between ourselves and 111.
