The Italians are running around talking about civilization and the fact that they're upholding civilization. And Nicker Bocker says for his readers in the newspapers, this is the gift that Italian civilization brings to these barbarous lands. It's a modern war with bombardment. The Ethiopians don't have the capacity to really defend themselves against an onrush of bombing planes,. tanks, machine guns, flame throwers and modern infantry.
