Introduction
In 1924, a physician in Finland encountered a five-year-old patient with severe bleeding from her nose and gums. It took another 30 years to find the plasma protein that is implicated in this disease. Von Willabrand Factor plays a key role in hemostasis; it also traperones coagulation factor 8 in the plasma. Today, our patient has Von Willab rand disease, and you are the doctor.
