The History of Air Wand

The first air wand was in 1966 and it was owned by this Japanese couple the couches. The idea behind air wand was that they wanted it to be a food collective more than a grocery store. They were dedicated to furthering the teachings of George Osawa's World Government Association, which is founded in Japan. It filed for bankruptcy in 1981 and eventually was purchased by a competing natural foods wholesaler. Today there are no explicit connections to Japanese school of thought in the type of produce that they sell. Though Paul Hocken who used to be the president of the first air wand has said that the air wand I helped found has failed.
