We had a whole bunch of questions from people on Instagram and there's some really good ones so I want to kind of like dive into as many as possible. Somebody asked how to navigate telling a partner about spicy kinks when you have a really bad rejection sensitivity. My immediate answer is write them a letter or an email or texting them even right. So you don't see their initial reaction. Reframing the conversation can be really powerful.
In this episode, Hannah is joined by Cate Osborn, who is a certified sex educator with ADHD, a mental health advocate and full-time content creator. Cate joins Hannah to talk about how typical understanding of ADHD has let down women and minority genders, having ADHD and dating, and how ADHD and kink can intersect. Cate unpacks rejection sensitivity and time blindness, discusses the relationship between ADHD and consent, and shares her opinion on why kink is a great tool for managing stimulation. Finally, Hannah and Cate discuss relationship dynamics where one person has ADHD and the other(s) doesn’t, the moral obligation to treat people with compassion, and how communication is crucial in all relationships.
