Voting on Public Schools

I hear a lot from wealthy people whose kids are in private school that they vote a all funding for public schools because it doesn't affect them, and it just raises their tax. And that seems to me so astonishingly narrow minded in the way that we think about how our communities wornly. Even on a very selfish level, even on a very me based level, it is good for me to have people in my community get access to better educational opportunities. That is how we grow as a community. Like to me, public education is one of the massive, earth changing innovations of the last 200 years.
