The Risk Factors for CVT

The patient has a venous clot in one of the large veins draining the brain. You urgently are going to have to anticoagulate them with unfractionated heparin or low molecular weight heparin. If they've then progressed to ischemia and hemorrhage, thrombolysis can be used.
