The Aphoristic Forms of Epicurus' Death

In the second of his principal doctrines is an aphorism that can serve as more or less commentary on Epicurus' death. Epicurus says, quote, death is nothing for us. For what has been dissolved has no sense experience. And so a truly pleasurable feeling occurs with no accompanying pain or distress. The Schopenhauer would probably agree with all of this, to seek pleasure means to seek the elimination of pain first and foremost.
