John Deere has been snapping up tech workers from Silicon Valley over recent months, looking for people with expertise in things like artificial intelligence. John Deere is an example of traditionally unsexy industries that are trying to reinvent themselves for the digital era but struggling to attract this type of talent. You're also seeing this in car makers who are increasingly focused on software, banks, health insurers, retailers and many others as well. And I'll just add as well that not all these techies are leaving the industry. It's also exciting to see that many of them are exploring going out on their own and establishing the next generation of tech startups.
