Empathy Is Not Just a Keyhole When We Talk About Empathy
When you pick up a microphone in our profession, there is no way that you can get the full context of someone's humanity. The idea that you can actually fully imagine yourself as some one else becomes problematic when we are asked to imagine somebody who is sitting in the cross hairs of systems different from us. And so i think that that's where empathy is a narrative strategy, really becomes manipulation.
