The Dynamic of a Distinction in the Court
The authority of a court comes principally from the fact that you have a majority opinion and hopefully a unanimous opinion. So once you have some one speaking for the court, it seems as though having a dissent is going to weaken the authority of the courts. But in terms of importance, i would say that there are no important descents in the martial error, none that we know. If i'm teaching con law, that is not i spend any time on. Once we get to 20, however, we start to get some important ecents and then you have some of them are just, i think you're wrong, and this is why i think you are wrong.
