Gnosticism is a term that means four different things at the same time in different levels of specificity as to what's being meant. The word has been used by people like Rousseau, Hegel and Friedrich Utinger who laid out this kind of modern era Gnosticism which became programs for social and political tyranny. And I don't think that we're any different Rousseau's most famous line perhaps if you had to ask somebody: "Man is born free and everywhere he's in chains" It's all just made up stuff anyway.
